St. Ignatius of Loyola, a former soldier turned saint, is known for his deep commitment to finding God in all things. Born in 1491 in Spain, St. Ignatius experienced a dramatic conversion after a war injury, which led him to devote his life to Christ through prayer, service, and spiritual formation. He founded the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), wrote the Spiritual Exercises, and taught generations of Catholics how to discern God’s will through quiet reflection and courageous faith.

His legacy continues to shape Catholic education, missionary work, and spiritual retreats around the world. Canonized in 1622, St. Ignatius is the patron saint of retreats, soldiers, and spiritual discernment. His feast day is celebrated on July 31st.
